As part of the NEPHEWS Twinning Programme, Berfin Çelik undertook a research visit at TARLA, Turkey. During the visit, she gained practical experience through hands-on training in thin-film fabrication and ultrafast magnetic measurement techniques.

During the programme, practical training was provided on thin-film deposition using magnetron sputtering. Particular emphasis was placed on fundamental process parameters, including vacuum system operation, plasma generation, and precise control of the deposited film thickness.
The participant was also introduced to the configuration and operation of a Time-Resolved Magneto-Optical Kerr Effect (TR-MOKE) experimental system, together with the theoretical principles of ultrafast laser amplifier systems. Under the supervision and guidance of experienced researchers at the host institution, namely Prof. Dr. H. Gül YAĞLIOĞLU, Prof. Dr. Eyüp DUMAN, Prof. Dr. Burak BİLKİ, and Dr. F. Gülşah AKÇA, the participant actively took part in the experimental activities throughout the training period.

By the end of the programme, the participant had developed practical skills in several experimental techniques available at TARLA. The training also provided valuable experience in working with advanced research facilities within an international research environment, while further enhancing the participant’s scientific communication, experimental, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills.
