Elettra Sincrotrone Trieste was pleased to host Oleksandra Sukhanevych, from the Kyiv Academic University (Ukraine), as for one week as part of the NEPHEWS Early Stage Researchers Programme.

The Early Stage Researchers Programme of the EU-funded NEPHEWS project, offers students and early-career researchers hands-on access to major European research infrastructures. Elettra is proud to be one of the participating facilities, welcoming talented individuals to explore advanced synchrotron techniques.

During her stay, she followed a tailored programme at Elettra and FERMI, including introductory lectures on Elettra and FERMI techniques, innovation and liaison office activities, quantum computing and IT for research, as well as hands-on activities at the T-ReX and TeraFERMI laboratories. She also participated in proposal writing sessions together with researchers and staff members.
In addition , to the programme, Olexsandra took part in the NICE2026 Workshop (Nonlinear Imaging and Coherent Effects), held in Latisana, where she attended a full day of scientific sessions dedicated to advanced imaging techniques and coherent effects research.

Her participation provided an excellent opportunity to gain insight into cutting-edge photon science and interdisciplinary research environments. The experience was both stimulating and enriching, allowing her to broaden her scientific knowledge and interact with researchers working in different fields.

For Elettra, it was a pleasure to support a motivated young participant in exploring advanced research infrastructures and developing connections that may contribute to her future academic and professional path.
